Taba is the main border crossing between Egypt and Israel and the only one open to foreigners. There are a number of high-end hotels and also many simple beach camps along the road to Nuweiba. Off the coast from Taba is Pharaoh Island with an old fort. Located just south of Taba is a protected area on 3590 sq. km.

Food and drinks
Many activities are related to the sea, such as diving, snorkeling and boat rides, but there are many other activities including camel and horse-riding, quad biking, safaris, excursions and Bedouin dinner under the stars.
