Livelier and more developed than Nuweiba or Taba, Dahab is the second resort city of South Sinai, but on a more human-scale and with a more laid-back atmosphere than Sharm el Sheikh. Apart from excellent diving and other types of water sports it offers a few hikes. The famous diving spot, the Blue Hole, is to the north of town towards the Abu Galum Protecorate.

The coast along Mashraba and Masbat is lined with excellent restaurants and cafés.
| Getting there and around
Dahab is connected to Cairo and the other Sinai Red Sea resorts by a public bus service, as well as private micro-buses and taxis. To St. Catherine there is a regular microbus service provided by Bedouin Bus and the mid-night Mt. Sinai tours, but no bus. You should organize transport from the airport to your hotel before arriving – you can either ask your hotel to do it or use another service. Getting around Dahab is by shared taxi.

Main locations: 1. City center; 2. Laguna; 3. Mashraba; 4. Masbat; 5. Light House; 6. Eel Garden; 7. Asala; and 8. Blue Hole. View Dahab in a larger map |
