In the High Mountains there is plenty of water as you could see in earlier galleries. There is, however, water in the desert too – of course, you have to know where – in wells, little ponds and springs. There are also bigger wells supplying water to towns and settlements, and in a few places solar-powered pumps have replaced the noise and messy diesel pumps. The water in South Sinai doesn’t come deep from the ground (as, for example, in Siwa) but the previous years precipitation collects underground. Last winter was very generous with lots of rain – let’s hope for another good winter. Inshaallah tafraj.
